What Are Non Market Android Apps

Non Market Android Apps

Non Market Android AppsNon Market Android Apps | Now you may be asking “What are Non Market Android Apps?” These are apps that are acquired from anyplace other than the Google Android Marketplace and if you have an Android compliant device then the Market place app is already on you phone or tablet. If your device is non-compliant then you are relegated to getting non market Android apps.

So why are there non market Android apps if all the devices are running the Android operating system? Well you see not all Android tablets and phones are created equal and by that I mean the Android Operating System is implemented in different ways by different manufacturers. Amazon is a prime example of this because they took Android version 2.3 and modified it heavily for the Kindle Fire. They are also a prime example of a non-compliant device.

Compliance with Android is determined by the Android Compliance Definition and one is published for every version of Android. You’ll find that most of the sub $200 Android tablets on the market are non-compliant with tablets such as Acer android tablets and Asus Android tablets to name a few being fully compliant, but will run you closer to $400.

As mentioned earlier if you have a non-compliant device then you do no have access to the Android Marketplace and thereby automatically a customer of non Market Android apps. Not coincidentally the largest database of Android apps around, other than Google that is, is Amazon .com. The only major difference between the Android Marketplace and the Amazon Appstore for Android is that it is generally accepted that the Android Marketplace has more free apps available.

So if you’re planning on buying a new Android tablet in the near future then you’ll want to pay close attention as to whether your device of choice is Android compliant.  This is generally pretty simple to discern since the Android Marketplace is usually placed prominently on the devices packaging.

Here are the links to both the Android Marketplace and the non Market Android apps over at Amazon.

  1. The smartphone has changed the way we think and live. It is no surprise that market is flood with these incredible devices manufactured by different companies. Also there are lot of applications available that makes these devices even smarter.

  2. Or you can use the Superuser app so that you can install apk apps directly on your phone. I think there is a workaround for that.
